Speaker & Talent Relations
Ideal For
A poised student who wants proximity to nationally known figures and understands that the job is making them comfortable, not talking to them.
The Speaker & Talent Relations Intern manages the experience of the organization's speakers from confirmation through departure. This is the highest-exposure interpersonal role available to an intern, and the one with the least margin for error — a mishandled speaker is a visible failure.

- Coordinate speaker travel, ground transportation, and accommodations.
- Prepare and distribute speaker briefing materials, schedules, and logistics packets.
- Serve as day-of point of contact for assigned speakers, including escort duties.
- Manage green room operations, hospitality, and staging timing.
- Coordinate speaker requirements with production, security, and press teams.
- Track and route speaker requests, changes, and special accommodations.
- Execute post-event follow-up and thank-you correspondence.

- Exceptional professionalism and discretion; this role handles private schedules and personal information.
- Confident, calm communication with high-profile individuals and their staff.
- Meticulous attention to detail in travel and scheduling logistics.
- Availability for irregular hours across the full event window.

- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university; eligible for the Federal Work Study Program where applicable.
- Senior in high school, recent high school graduate, or GED equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
- Discretion with confidential and pre-release information; adherence to all organizational policies, including confidentiality, data handling, and workplace safety standards.
- Prior office or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
Internship: minimum 16 hours per week, in person, Alexandria, VA. You are allowed to work up to 40 hours a week with limited overtime opportunities.
Every intern completes the program's five core competencies and attends the annual conference. Expect a written midpoint review, weekly one-on-one supervision, and a documented portfolio of completed work.
